Have you experienced Hyperemesis Gravidarum during a pregnancy under the care of Wirral Women's & Children's Hospital?

We know Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) is far more than "morning sickness". It can have a huge impact on your physical health, mental wellbeing and family life.

Wirral Maternity & Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) is working with local maternity services to better understand the experiences of families affected by HG.

Whether your experience was positive, difficult, or somewhere in between, we'd really like to hear from you.

Sharing your experience could help improve care for future families.

Share your experience in the way that feels right for you.
We know everyone is different, so we're offering several ways to take part.

Hyperemesis Gravidarum Listening Project

Arrange a meeting with the MNVP Lead.

Somewhere that feels comfortable.

This could be:

  • Arrowe Park Hospital

  • A local café

  • Family Hub

  • Community venue

We'll work around what suits you best.

Voice Note

Sometimes it's easier to talk than write.

If you'd prefer, you can send us a voice note via our socials or Whatsapp and we'll listen to your experience.

What might we ask?
There's no interview and no pressure. You can tell us as much or as little as you'd like.
Some people choose to talk about:
-when symptoms first started
-getting help
-hospital admissions
-communication with staff
-treatment received
-mental wellbeing
-what worked well
-what could have been better
There are no right or wrong answers.
Your privacy
You can choose whether your story is:
☐ Anonymous
☐ Shared with your name
☐ Shared only with the MNVP
☐ Used anonymously to improve services

What happens next?
We'll carefully review every story we receive. We'll identify common themes and work with maternity services to improve care for future families.

We'll also share what we've learned and the changes that happen because of your feedback.
